Broncos Face #4 Team in Nation Tonight

huge test for broncos tonight in the home opener.
after going 4-2 in some tough road games our men come back to kellogg gym to face the no. 4-ranked team from western washington.

anybody hanging around or near campus come on out and support our defending regional and conference champions!

The boys did their thing for two thirds of the game alright, but then allowed the Vikings a 14-0 run that wiped out a 70-63 lead. You can't let a Top Five team do that and survive. But some promising signs: Melvyn is baaaack!!!! Let's just hope he can stay healthy. Neon is lighting it up nicely. No wonder he leads the team in scoring. And LG is an awesome new man, hard to believe he is a true freshman. He was hustling better than anybody on either team.

Same problem: the Big Men need to play BIG. Offensive boards were lacking, and not much scoring punch, either.

Next home game: Dec. 21 against Seattle.

Broncos blow it on stripe

yah, and you can't shoot 7 for 14 from the line when the game is in the balance. most of those goofs were on the front end of 1-and-1 bonus shots while western wasn't.

am impressed with the balanced scoring and sharing but the boys MUST hit those free throws! this team is more exciting than last year but am nervous about stability and poise.

Those Free throws killed the Broncos. I was not there but it sound like there defense did a decent job holding Western to 85. Western usually average 100 points. When the game was close I was wishing that Sybesma was on the court playing. They could of used his clutch shooting. Hopefully this is the last lost for the Broncos this season.

actually, western washington was averaging 105 points per game. the kamansky trademark is low scoring via tight defense. so this one was a compromise.

now we must beat seattle.
