Broncos blow huge lead vs. UCSD

everything was clicking for the broncos as larry gordon dominated and we led 19-7 against UCSD.

then the tritons go on a 20-4 run and lead at half 27-23.

let's hope Double Trouble comes back in the second half.

announcers are making reference to angelo jawing with refs again. sheesh........angelo , let your play do the talking please.

a tough loss, folks.

we had many chances but tritons frustrated angelo leading him to foul out with only five points. then larry had a key turnover, and a baby shaq mental error and we lose 55-52.

sounded like broncos played hard and fell just short. a solid effort against a good team, though the announcers said tritons were overmatched physically. larry was only person in double digits in any category with 19 and 8.

they also made fun of donelle's free throw shooting, claiming that even the pomona fans made jokes of him. wow.

this one makes the road that much tougher. perhaps we didn't come through without lakdod's prediction.

Tough lost, but I knew this game would be tough. I was afraid of this game especially since ucsd is good at home. UCSD is a very good team. They have a very good coach and knew they would improve from last season. UCSD leading player are not senior so that means they will be a contender next year. To many turnovers cost them the game, but Gordon is carrying this team and probally have to if they want to get into the tournament. Honestly its baby step for this team and this was a small set back, but I see some improvment and I think if they sweep all the home games and lose 2 road games. which will give them a record of 14-9 for the regular season. I think they will win 2 game in the conference tournament which the top eight teams get in. their final record will be 16-10. 15-7 against west region and 16-7 against division 2. This ending might get them in the tournament but probally need to win the conference tournament.

san diego came back and whupped the yotes decisively at rimac.

that places humboldt in first place in the league. and allows room for the broncos to enter the conversation with continued strong play.

this race looks like a wild ride with about six teams possible contenders.

tough loss with positive gains

As I recall this was the first loss since Hall got back on here and re-stored order! I see it as a win-win situation. The Broncos got back in playoff talks with a 4 game winning streak and the fall of X-man. Hall couldnt be any happier right now.

In the words of Mercury Morris, "dont talk to me when your in my neighborhood or on my block, but when you pull up in my driveway and park; I will put on my Mr Rogers sweater and welcome you to my neigborhood!"

the fall of the x-man?

what kind of pot are you on, hall?

the x-man left one of the worst schools in the CSU and joined one of the best. when was the last time anybody gave $30,000,000 to pomona?

how's your new business building coming along? ours is almost done.

how's your baseball team doing lately? no post-season appearances for fifteen years? any idea how many the titans have been in? not to mention winning it all....and that's DIVISION ONE by the way.

how's your wrestling and gymnastics teams doing? uh.....i forgot, you don't have any.

but you do have some nice animals running around campus, if you can handle the smell.

your hard edges are showing again, x-man.

we all agree that cal poly pomona sucks right now in academics. we all know that nothing has happened with the business college building that has been planned for 25 years, but don't bang on us for that.

you guys at fullerton are riding a crest. your business college is awesome, and any school getting thirty million bucks from one guy is a serious player. okay, and your sports teams are mostly good, too.

but don't forget where you came from. and don't forget that bronco basketball, while down a bit, surely is not out. our gym is a relic but the guys play hard and are beginning to come together as a team.

i might drive over to see if the broncos can do anything against the lumberjacks tomorrow, j. that will be a good test. and it might be fun to talk some smack with your good buddy hall of whine.

at least you admit that poly sucks. the students review web site shows pomona with the worst score in the CSU at 3.5, a grade of C minus. business majors rate the school a D minus with lots of flunks.

the best incredibly is humboldt with 7.4, a B plus, but those lumberheads think anything is great on that pothead campus where there's nothing around for miles other than tall trees and lots of rain. fullerton is tied with san diego state at 7.1 which a grade of B. those two schools and SLO are the best in the state school system.

How dare you talk about my school, my team, my country.. bronco country that is.. and last not but not least my NAME! No one SHAMES THE FAME!

Hey kid, remember that as you're getting a foot in your ass when you're denied access in my gym. The odds are worse than the Giants to beat the Patriots in the Superbowl that you reveal your identity tonight!

The only way you're getting in, is if you bring your gf, then I shall be the judge.. That's your only hope kid. We shall see how much courage you have.

HOW ABOUT SOME BBALL CHALK TALK:

I like Dod's predictions. It will sure be tough to snatch two wins this weekend especially tonight against Humboldt. A sweep is great but a split is a win win for us this weekend. If Angelo comes to play tonight, then the we should win. How about LG playing right now. Can anyone say Player of the Year. If we get this win tonight, LG will get player of the year hands down. See you in my gym tonight!

Go Broncos...
