These are highlights of upcoming student events. Name of Event: Volunteer Fair Brought to you by ASI B.E.A.T, Center for Community Service-Learning and the Multicultural Council of Cal Poly Pomona. Date: Tuesday, October 26, 2004 Time: 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Location: University Park Brief Description: Meet with over 25 local organizations who are seeking your assistance in making a difference in our communities. Find a volunteer opportunity that is right for you and “lend a helping hand.” Name of Event: Visual Voices Against Violence ** Brought to you by the Stop Violence Grant Office Date: Tuesday and Wednesday, October 26 and 27, 2004 Time: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Location: Kellogg Art Gallery Brief Description: Two-day exhibit featuring works by community agencies using art as a form of healing along with activities raising awareness to the plight of domestic/dating violence and sexual assault. **October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Name of Event: Wellness Fair 2004 “Just for the Health of it” Brought to you by Student Health Services and the Bronco Fitness Center Date: Thursday, October 28, 2004 Time: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Location: Bronco Student Center, Ursa Major Brief Description: Free health screenings and assessments, learn healthy tips, win prizes, sample healthy food and get a free pedometer with “Healthy Steps” registration. Name of Event: Bronco Scare Faire! Brought to you by ASI B.E.A.T. Date: Friday, October 29, 2004 Time: 7 p.m. – 1:30 a.m. Location: Bronco Student Center Brief Description: Activities include: “Stables of the Crypt,” a haunted walk through the historical stables, free ping-pong and pool in the Games Room Etc, costume contest and the showing of “Rocky Horror Picture Show.” There will also be three different band performances and a comedy improv show. Admission is 3 canned goods per person. Name of Event: Cal Poly Pomona's Coed Cheer Squad Tryouts Date: Friday, October 29, 2004 Time: 2 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Location: Building 43, Room 128 Brief Description: Looking for cheerleaders, dancers, mascots, and gymnasts to be part of Cal Poly Pomona’s Cheer Squad.
