What to do around Pomona?

So I'm wondering, what sort of recreations does Pomona offer? Does the city seem like a college town? What areas should I avoid, since I am not even familiar with Pomona, perhaps specifically what streets should I avoid? Where can I go to get a meal? If friends or family come and visit where should I take them? Thank you!

the campus is actually a working farm and ranch

the campus is only pomona in name. it is not near downtown pomona but rather on hundreds of acres of ranch property once owned by the zillionaire kellogg family of cereal fame.

the campus is closer to walnut and even diamond bar which are rich bedroom suburbs with million dollar homes.

The only thing to do at Cal Poly Pomona is to drive to another city and find something else to do. Pomona or any place around the campus(Walnut, Diamond Bar) are definatly not a college towns.

I was born and raise in the area around Pomona and there is plenty of things to do around Pomona if you have a car. The beach is less than hour. Anahiem is about 20 min away and LA is about 45 min away. When its warm Raging Waters is about 5 min from campus. If you have a car you can always find something to do.

If you go out really late at night you can pet the animals by jumping over a few very dangerous fences. There are some very soft sheep, and some cows, and horses... all good petting fun. My previous petting zoo got closed at Knott's berry farm to put in some children's show or something. By far some of the best petting animal entertainment can be had right on campus.

The beach is less than hour?!?!?! WTF?!?! Its less than an hour away ONLY if you drive at 85mph, and you drive when there's no traffic, like at 11pm.

Anaheim, 20 min away if u go during non-traffic hours, which is like before 6am, noon, and after 7pm.

To this day, i remember that the rabbits there are the softest things I have ever felt/touched/petted my whole life.

R.I.P. farm.

Top of my head, Raging Waters in San Dimas, Disneyland in Anaheim and gigantic shopping malls in most cities.

I Have done it before but not during traffic. I have drove from campus to Long Beach less than 1 hr, but I left at 9am and I was going 75. Anahiem is about 20 min from campus. I live 10 min south of the campus and it only takes me ten min but not when is traffic.
