![]() | I understand Cal Poly San Luis Obispo has a lower acceptance rate compared to Cal Poly Pomona. What are you doing right now? And how come you didn't apply for Cal Poly SLO during your senior year? I assume you want to finish your general education at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and not at a community college. If your G.P.A. was over 3.0 and you are satisfied with your S.A.T. score (nowhere near 1000), you should contact the admissions office immediately. Waiting wouldn't really take you anywhere. Since you are not decided on the major, apply as "undeclared?" Good luck Alex.

![]() | actually, i dont have a gpa of 3.0.. i just checked and it was actually 2.1.. not too good.. and my sat score was 1040.. so what do you guys suggest? i really would like to take ge at slo.. and i do have a major in mind, but it's an impacted course (architecture) so i would like to put a no brainer major and get in and then change majors after i do my ge's.. what do you think regarding my grades? even a little chance would make me want to try.. let me know! |

![]() | Hmm... of course submitting your admission application gives you a slight chance compared to not turning it in. I don't know what the admission criteria is for Cal Poly SLO but since it is a top Cal State university, high school G.P.A. is very important. Both of my h.s. friend who applied there had 3.8 and 3.9 G.P.A.s. You have two options in your situation. Find out when the deadine is to apply for admissions and give it a chance. Or you would need to go through a community college and transfer. I don't see any other way. Just don't give up. ![]()

![]() | So hows the tire changing equipment working out Alex? Dont want to be a downer but I had a 3.3 gpa and a 1300 sat score and they didnt let me in to SLO both times I applied. First time outta HS trying to go for CS and then after 1 year at a JC as ME. From the JC I had a 3.8gpa when I applied the second time as a ME major. How are your grades at the JC? You could always try to get in under something like math, religion or history major(something non-technical). Have a friend whos brother got in as something religion and then switched to CS. When your in the JC think of it this way, if you dont work hard there youll never get out. If you cant do well in a JC what is a Cal State or UC school going to think. Good Luck |
