![]() | Have anyone tried grade appealing? I have a question. Have any of you tried to appeal grades? For example, you were expecting an A and you ended up getting a B. And you appeal. Do you just email your professor? Does it work? How long would it take? |

![]() | Do you mean grade replacement? With a grade replacement you could actually repeat a class and use the grade you received the second time around to replace the original grade you earned. You can only replace 16 units worth, which is usually four classes. Use them wisely because you can replace any grade that is a "C" or lower. A "C+" cannot be replaced. Go to the registrar's office and complete a grade replacement form for each class in which you would like to replace the grade. I'm not sure exactly how long it takes to replace the grade though. When you file a grade replacement, the class that you repeated will be excluded when your GPA is calculated. The second grade you got in the class will appear on your transcript with the note that you repeated the class. Hope this helps. |

![]() | No i did not mean grade replacement. I meant "grade appeal". For example, my professor gave me a "B+" but i did everything near perfect so i thought i deserved an "A". So is it possible if i tell the professor now and prove that i deserved an A instead of a "B+", he will change it before Spring begins? Is it easy for a teacher to change a student's grade? They just put the grades online right? |

![]() | I once got a B+ when all my work had been graded A. When I asked the teacher why I got The B+ he admitted it was a mistake. He put the paperwork thru to get it changed but it took a few weeks. Talk to the professor he should be able to explain why he gave the grade he did, or he should change it. |

![]() | It took a few weeks to be changed?! I wonder why....considering how the professors can just type in the grade on the website. (i heard it from another professor). Do you think there's another way for it to be changed quickly? |

![]() | Once grades are posted, any changes need to be done by paper request to the registrar, and it takes a while. If you want to appeal a grade, there are a series of formal steps, first of which, speak to the professor! and then if you dont like what he/she says, follow the steps on page 3. "Course grades assigned by instructors are presumed to be correct. It is the responsibility of the student who appeals an assigned grade to demonstrate clerical error, prejudice, or capriciousness in the assignment of the grade, or that a reasonable accommodation for a documented disability was requested and not appropriately provided; otherwise, the judgment of the instructor is final." |
