Has anyone transfered from CPP to a UC? know anyone that did it?

i want to say sorry for making these dumb threads. I hope I'm not getting annoying. I'm just not good at making these kind of decisions and i can be very high maintenance.

my question is, has anyone or do you know anyone that went to Cal Poly Pomona that transfered to a CSU/or UC?

if so, where did they go? what major?

how hard is it to do this? is this as hard as switching majors?

i just want an option if i don't like Cal Poly Pomona or I can't get in as my first major. Thanks for replying and helping me. greatly appreciated.

Not too sure about transfering to UCs, but it should be possible since both schools are on a quarter system. I think you need to complete a certain amount of GEs at Cal Poly then apply for a transfer to a UC school. If you tried transfering from a quarter system school to a semester school system, there might be troubles transfering credits. I had a friend who thought about transfering to USC, but most of the credits wouldn't transfer over equally and he would have to take the same type of classes he already took to even it out, something like that.

My suitemate just transfered from CPP to SLO this quarter because CPP was discontinuing his major. According to here, he's loving it there.

A buddy transferred from Cal State Fullerton (Business Administration) to UCR (Business Administration). He said he had above 3.0 GPA during the time of transfer.
Keep in mind, transfer is not an easy process and can be a very time consuming task. And many schools are hesitant to accept current Cal State students and only accept community college transfers.

I was thinking the same thing so don't feel stupid for asking! I am hesitant about CPP as SLO was my first choice and don't want to be stuck in an environment that I hate. Do you know how difficult it is to transfer to SLO from CPP during your freshamn year? I am hoping that if I hate CPP I can transfer to SLO either winter or spring quarter. Do you think it's possible?!

yes!

we have dozens and dozens of students who transfer back and forth every quarter. it's easy becuz the curriculum and majors are soooooo similar. but you must have the grades to do it, and SLO has more impacted majors than we do at pomona, which also figures in. but your chance to move up to SLO are better from pomona than anywhere else in the system since that is our sister school. in fact, we once were just an SLO branch for about 30 years. we also have a decent number move over to midrange UCs like irvine and santa barbara though not as many as SLO.
