Although I attend CPP, I agree with the term 'lackluster.'
Compared to the class discussions at UCI and UCLA, many of the CPP students rarely participate in a class discussions, ask profound questions, and initiate discussions. Most of my friends attend UC and USC and I rarely see myself talking about my school when I am around with them. Go figure.

unless you have attended all three schools there is no way you can draw this conclusion, and even then you only have the evidence of very few classes. some students at any school are quiet and others are provocative. the term lackluster can mean anything about anything. in the case of the CC post the student never had spent one minute on the campus. too many ppl talk about stuff they know nothing about other than hearsay. irvine is more like pomona than ucla since most students there like here are commuters. and yes, irvine students complain that the campus is boring with nothing to do. it goes with the turf.
