![]() | This news have been circulating around the campus: approximately 10 AM in the morning of Nov 13, a student attempted commit suicide by jumping off from the 5th floor of the CLA building. School workers seen washing away the blood stain from the ground after the incident. It is not known on the major of the student or the reason of his attempt. However, the good news is that the student survived the jump, a miracle considered by many people since the CLA 5th floor is as tall as a 10 story ordinary building. The bad news is the condition of the student is very poor. His neck was broken and he lost all ability to use his limbs from the neck down. I would have asked the doctor about his condition since I had an appointment with the school physician just an hour later, but I didn't learn about what happened until sometime in the afternoon. |

![]() | That really is something. ![]() I came out of the computer lab this morning in the CIS building, 4th floor. There was a group of students chatting and looking at the bottom quad area. I noticed a large pool of water with bubbles and I heard a student mentioning about someone falling down on the top floor. ![]() Walking towards the library, I could hear and see two helicopters hovering (very rare) around campus and that meant something was wrong. To make it short, I hope there will not be another incidents like this ever. Hope for the best for him and his family.

| Cal Poly Guru | I wonder why he picked Cal Poly as his suicide location. Was he trying to tell CPP something? or did he want the attention?

![]() In today's Poly Post issue front page, 22-year old Baccy Ly died. ![]() "Ly graduated in June 2003 with a degre in computer information science and was not taking any courses at the campus. University officials said they are not sure why he was on campus." I also heard that the running Baccyh Ly did not die immediately is because he fell with his foot down first.
