orangecounty58.
I heard Electrical Engineering major is very difficult and takes a minimum of 5 years to graduate! Congrats!
What's your plan after graduation?

to answer some questions:

engineering in general is difficult. electrical engineering is difficult, sometimes learning math such as Laplace and Fourier in a matter of a week in order to homeowork and then take exams. i think anyone can learn anything with enough effort. long nights, no sleep, like not sleeping for two days in order to complete projects and study for exams. i think most of us deserve our salaries, and yes we start at about 54k and up. my friend got hired at 63k (+bonuses) and 10k moving cost in AZ. cant beat that, especially at the cost of health insurance now, and we all get full benefits and usually around 10% of total salary 401k matching. as long as i can live comfortably and have a few toys, im happy. good to be able to spoil one's friends and family. =)

Yea that's one of the reasons I am pursuing Engineering [Mechanical]...good/respectable profession and the pay is good...plus it would be the best way for me to get into the Automobile Industry...

I have a friend who graduated from USC +-3 years ago with a Electrical Engineering degree...got hired by Boeing at a college job fair...starting with $55K+- per year...now he is making $60K-65K+- per year...and in the process of earning his Master's in Electrical Engineering at Cal Poly Pomona...

Good luck and keep us updated on your job status when you graduate!
