![]() | Welcome to the Cal Poly Forums Redd Pumpkyn. To tell you the truth, your introduction thread is a lot more interesting than what other members have created. There is one other member (or two) that are also in high school and trying to attend Cal Poly San Luis Obispo this Fall. Are you a senior? Few advice: Improve your overall high school G.P.A. and S.A.T. score and apply early to SLO. Enjoy!

![]() | Urgh... aren't there cows at Pomona? Oo Where is that, anyway? =' Ah well. As to the rest... the name's Jenn (at least the nickname), I'm petite (heh.. so careful a word) and half-asian half white (twinkie oo), I live near LA, my GPA is 3.70 (since I take AP/IB for the most part, my GPA's kinda poopy) and I'm gonna major in English... and yes, I know "gonna" isn't a real word. Tough. I'm not going to say much more than that, because I know better. So there. And yes Kaycee, I'm a senior. (hooray )So... why is Pomona better?

![]() | 3.70 G.P.A. is quite good. You won't have a problem getting accepted to Cal Poly Pomona. Wouldn't be hard to get accepted to San Luis Obispo also.Cal Poly San Luis Obispo is considered a better institution and higher ranked according to many college reviews. It is your choice. Why not UC? I haven't seen a single cow as of yet but I've seen dozens in high school. Mooo~

![]() | Ha to the cow thing ![]() I actually got accepted to SLO, and I'm assuming it's too late for Pomona. I never heard anything about Pomona when I was applying, so I didn't even bother. How is it different from SLO? (if you know, that is) I also got accepted to UCSB, but I'm not so sure about going there for several reasons: 1. It costs about $20,000 including tuition, room and board, etc., which is something like $5,000 more than Cal Poly (or all the CalStates I applied for, for that matter) 2. It's a BIG party school, and if there ever was a party pooper, it is me 3. It's really close to home (about an hour away), which I'm not sure I like. I kind've want more of an independant feeling 4. I heard the campus is dirty. Like, trash and whores and stuff. That may just be rumor though. 5. I dont WANT to be a gaucho, dangit! And they only have a pep band, not a Marching Band ;_; (that's kinda silly sounding though, isn't it?) Of course, I've also heard it has awsome academic courses, especially in English. So really everythings up in the air for me, and frankly the stress is getting waaaayyy old. I've been stressing out about this since mid-September, and I'm starting to develop a twitch in my eye (oh yeah, reeeaally sexy). oy.
