| Active Member | Insert catchy title here... Hello all, My name's Paul. I've been going to Cal Poly Pomona for the past 2 years, after being at Fullerton College for 2 years. I'm an ECE major, with an emphasis in power systems. I have about a year left here. After I graduate I want to go to Cal Poly SLO for my Master's. From what I've seen, they have a good Master's program in power engineering up there. I'd like to work for an electric utility planning new transmission lines and making sure California's electric demands are met. I live at the Village but am planning to move out and go back to commuting (the reasons will be discussed in another thread). In my spare time I run a Web hosting business that is quite busy. For you techies out there, my servers consume about 12 Mb/sec. traffic on average. All run Linux. I host about 150 domains. It pays my rent and tuition Also, I have a radio scanner that I listen to the police and fire departments in this area. I listen to everything from Cal Poly Pomona PD to air channels for major brush fires. I post notes of major incidents I hear on my blog when I have time. The good thing about living in a bad area like Pomona is that there's always something interesting to listen to I'll be sure to drop by in a few threads when I have the time, and I look forward to meeting all of you ![]() |

![]() | Welcome to the Cal Poly forums Paul. 12mb / sec! ![]() You must have started your hosting business quite early to have that much clients because web hosting business is quite saturated. Saturated with non-experienced teenagers, that is. Nice to meet you and if you have your textbooks lying around would like to get rid of some, please post it on the online bookstore forum. And we love to hear your professor evaluations.
