how is everyone? i just signed up at this forum last night. (in regards to the rules: do i count as a "friend" of cal poly? not in college yet, but i applied.

) i'm currently a senior at a high school local to cal poly pomona. i got accepted to cpp about three weeks after i sent in my application in october '04.

if i attend cpp, i'll be majoring in graphic design. i'm not sure how the program is like over there, but i noticed from the school's art site that many of the students have gone on to more "prestigious" institutions such as the art center in pasadena and cal arts in valencia. i'm still not even sure i want to do graphic design; i'll just see where it takes me.

how is cal poly pomona for government/social studies majors? i'm interested in that, too.

Welcome to the forum mysticfox. Graphic design sounds pretty neat. Congrats on getting accepted to Cal Poly Pomona.

Congrats on your acceptance, mysticfox and welcome to the Cal Poly forum.
Why not strive while you're in college and plan on going to the "Art Center." After all, it is where all artists want to be at, despite the high tuition costs (but then, you can easily apply for a student loan).

No idea about the government and social studies majors.

r u more into video grafix, or picture grafix, or website grafix, or multimedia grafix... etc.

talon and kaycee -- thanks.

jpwrana -- i'm not really sure, but i'm not interested in web site/multimedia as a major or career. it's more like publications and layouts.

then photoshop it is!!! take lots of camera classes (or what you can i guess) COM131 is photography. I have a few adobe progz myself... never used corel though.
