Welcome to the Cal Poly forum. It all comes down to your GPA total. You should find out how many transfer students Cal Poly Pomona is accepting during that year. The college of engineering should be more difficult to be admitted into compared to other fields.

It also depends where you live. Yes, it does. Due to the great budget we have now, CSU's have to take care of local students before they can admit students who live "out of town." Essentially, we are supposed to go the CSU closest to our house. We CAN go to other CSU's, but like Kaycee said, its all about the high GPA. Keep it strong if you are a transfer, and you are fine.

Hope that helps.

hi thanks everyone! well... it's weird because i know someone who transferred into the engineering field with just a 3.0 gpa and he only got up to college algebra. also, i emailed the engineering dept about its gpa requirements and the person who responded said they dont have a requirement, but the higher the gpa, the better. nothing is really required i guess and all math and sciences can be completed once a student is admitted. hmm...

TWEEtyhack,

neways, thanks for the welcome

Best of luck trying to get the engineering people to give you any straight answers. lol I was told once that I need to have a 3.5 and once a 2.5. So confusing! basically, apply. At worst, you wasted the 55 bucks. Life goes on after you get denied admission. You can always work your hardest after and try again. As corny as it sounds, do your best work and then you can apply in full confidence. If you're not accepted, they don't deserve you.
