Hello SLO and Pomona students

My name is Martin, currently a senior at ghetto Corona High School, and I don't feel like I want to graduate because it seems to be too close away, haha.

I'm applying to both CP SLO and CPP this fall, with hopes that I can get into either one, with the major of my choice. I have an affection for tinkering around with numbers (but then again, I'm Asian), so I'm pretty much prepared there. After doing a background check of my academics and test scores at princetonreview, their thingamajig states that I can get into either school easily (though I personally don't think that's the case).

It's nice to meet you folks and I hope I can eventually become you - the CP student.

He is not an ordinary asian though. Martin is a 100 years old Asian.

Attending a ghetto high school have its advantages. For example, let us assume that 75% of your graduating classmates are not college prospects. You graduate in the top 5% of your class thanks to the 'ghettoness' of the high school and its students. The college admissions will look at your application, GPA and SAT score meets the admission requirement, and graduated in the top 5% of the class. What do you know! The admissions accepted your college application because the university saw you as a prospective student who strived to succeed even if his or her high school was ghetto and poor overall (not saying ghetto = poor).

Hehe of course this is not always the case. I heard a HIGH percentages of Sunny Hills high school students get a high average in the SAT scores and get admitted to IVY leagues and other prestigious universities.

Haha, that I can only dream of. My overall GPA places me in the top 8% of the class, and average SAT score at my school is 966, so that should give me a little advantage. Oh and we tie for being the "dumbest" school in the district in terms of standardized test scores.

And yes, I am 100, I just didn't feel like going to school way back then and I was held back several times.

I wish I had thought of this when I was deciding which high school to graduate from. I first went to the one closest to my house, and for the year I was there I was first in my class. Then I had the opportunity to bus to a "better" high school with lots of honors and AP classes, so I transferred. I probably could have been valedictorian had I stayed at my original high school. Oh well, I turned out ok anyway.

I'm half Chinese, does that count? And I am fluent in neither Cantonese nor Mandarin, though I can count to 99 in Mandarin and can pick out certain words. I can also have a limited conversation in Taiwanese. Wait, are Taiwanese people considered "chinese"?

My other half is Texas! My dad liked to call me and my sister "Texanese".
Imagine alternating between cultures for dinner: sometimes it was beans-n-cornbread, other times it was won tons. Makes for good variety!

A friend of mine is half-Vietnamese/half-white. Usually he has a combination of Vietnamese and American food for dinner....... good times.
