Sup Mike. I can't help you since I'm still a fresh high school graduate.
I'm sure other members will give you some advice.

GOOD LUCK though! Don't let one thing stop you from life.

Hi and welcome alphaneo! You wish to attend Cal Poly Pomona or Cal Poly San Luis Obispo?
I see no problem for an international student to get accepted to either Cal Poly universities but the budget cut is your main problem. Since you have contacted Gloria Cerda (admissions office?), the only thing you can do is to wait for a response and keep up your grade at Glendale College.

csupomona

Hi there kaycee! Well I'm actually wanting to go to cal poly pomona --> wanted to go ther sooo baddd

Anyway, can you clarify what you mean by budget cut will be the main problem? is it because a matter of financial problem or the requirements to get in (grading). I suppose I have no financial problem at this time to fulfill the csu required $$ for a year. Well... my dad is the one who's figuring that out Thanks to him that is heheh. but I if the req change or anything I hope I can still get in

If I remember correctly, admissions are limited and reduced due to the California budget cut and affects both Cal States and UC. Therefore, more competition for freshmen and transfer student to get accepted into the limited slot.

Have you applied already and when? Seems like you have contacted the admissions office regarding your transfer application. Did you get a response?

yeah I did contact the admission regarding my application (applied in November 2003 but have just sent all of my following documents on early february 2004. I asked them and they said to call back in the end of march or a bit later

About the budget cut, I certainly know that it will affect the number of acceptances. But, I want to know how much will it be affected? that's the part that I am scared of.. usually with 2.6 international students will get accepted they say... but what about after the budget cut... now they require much more than 2.6 like 3.0?? or much more perhaps? where to they draw the line remains to be my question until now... I guess I can only know that when I got my final admission status

O well, this will probably be another gloomy day for me after thinking about this...again as always ;p. But thx for the response kaycee. Highly appreciated If anyone have some opinions/thoughts, plz post thanksss

I don't think the admissions department will provide that information to the students. The only thing you can do at the moment is wait and look at other possibilities. Make a backup so that if you do not get accepted (let's hope not), you have other options to look upon.
There should be other universities that might interest you and that provides the major that you are interested in. Good luck.

alphaneo. Keep an alternative plan in case.
If you decide to attend another university, can't you apply to Pomona and try to transfer again?

Why don't you apply to other Cal State universities for a backup plan.
Probably and likely to get accepted to other Cal State besides either Cal Poly university.
Good luck mate.
