Hello from me to you.

I just thought I'd spend some time and quickly introduce myself. My name is Daren and I am a CE major here at CSU Pomona. This is my second year here and 4th overall in college. I guess you could say I am a victim of the JC transfer system. With all the classes I've taken over its added about a year and a half to my time here. Anyways...
I grew up in San Diego, CA. I'm your typical So Cal kid who loves the outdoors and the beach. After high school I spent a few summers working in Yosemite National Park. There I found my love for photography and rock climbing. I find myself wishing I was doing those things as I sit in class each semester.
I'm currently working on redisgning my photo site. But that is slow going of course with work and classes. Slow but steady.
I hope to get to know you guys over the next few weeks.

-Daren

I enjoy bouldering for the challenge and the intimacy between yourself and the surroundings.

Gorgeous pic. Some photo skills you got there.
What is your job position when you work in Yosemite Park? I plan on going there sometime in the "future."

I currently have two cameras. My main one is a Promaster 2000PK. It is a real basic camera mainly used by students and amatuers. It is fully manual except for exposure settings. I have a Tamron 28-80mm lens on it now. It allows for me to do wideangle shots and have a little bit of zoom.

My other camera is a Toshiba PDR-3330. It is a 3.2 megapixel digital camera. It works great but it is wierd not to use film with it. I'll get used to it though.

Hi Yosemite Climber.
Must be fun to be in the outdoors - especially rock climbing.

Welcome mate. I haven't been to Yosemite park yet. Do you happen to know the distance and time from Pomona to Yosemite? And what is Yosemite park known for?

I remember my family vacation to Yellostone national park. I was young and was surprised to see waters gushing out of a hole (known as a geyser). Fascinating...especi ally the devil's cove.

Yosemite is probably about a 7 hour drive from here. Not the most interesting drive because you spend about 3 hours driving straight through the central valley. hehe

Yosemite is famous for Half Dome, El Capitan, and Yosemite Falls. Yosemite Falls is one of the highest waterfalls in the world at 2,425 feet. Split into three sections Upper Falls, Middle Cascades, and Lower Falls. The upper falls is the greatest single unobstructed freefall in the world.

El Capitan is the largest piece of exposed granite in the world at over 3,000 feet from base to top.

There is a lot about Yosemite that makes it great. I suggest reading a book about Yosemite or just going there someday. You won't regret doing it once you do.

Yosemite is the park to go!! Forget Grand Canyon/Hoover Dam and go to Yosemite National Park for the next family vacation.
You won't regret it. Swimming in the lake is so cooool during the summer. (not sure if they still let you do that)
