I lived in Murray for 3 years. It's a good place that's right next to campus. Valencia's a little less nice and farther from campus. It's not really walking distance. Murray can get pretty loud, but it seems that's what you like. I'd recommend murray.

Sounds much better and closer to campus.
Is it the same deal with Mustang Village?

What are the rooms like at Murray, nice to live in?
Thanks so much for your help, sounds great and the advice is really helping

Mustang village is even closer to campus(5 min), but the rooms are a little less nice. Generally, Murray Station has the most modern apartments available.

Sounds great, i am currently filling in application form, and will hopefully be living there in spring.

Thanks for the advice, its making life much easier. Is murray station booked out generally, or do u think i should have a chance of getting a room in the complex?

It was pretty much filled when I left in august. I usually see people moving out in January though, due to grades and such.

Talking

I know a couple people that live in mustang, definently the party complex to be in. Stenner Glen is right there too, basically the same thing.

Besides the studio apartments at mustang village, what I know of is its 4 students sharing an apartment. 1 bathroom.

Check out the ASI (Associate Students Inc.) for classifieds, usually people posting places for people to live for quarters and etc. http://asi.calpoly.edu/classifieds/

If my french foreign exchange student were to get kicked out you could have her room, but.. I doubt thats going to happen.

I have my own apartment off campus, a very close bike ride... but the problem with these apartments is that they are year long leases... and they aren't much for parties besides my buds on the lower level and my self. They got a warning today that if they don't keep it down they are going to get evicted - haha.

I will prolly be having a party to offsuit them in a couple weeks, we will see how it goes.

As for entertainment - this is my first year at cal poly (calfiornia actually, I am here form michigan which is in the middile of the US.. where Eminem is from).

I haven't been to the grad yet, thats the major dance club I have heard of.
Downtown SLO there is a great bar called Downtown Brewery (or SLO Brewery) and they have plenty of live music :: big and small bands a like.

Then there is the Frog and Peach as well as a couple great bars... or at least thats where my roomy goes all the time. I haven't aquired a fake yet....

Then, if slo is too quiet as it seems to be getting at the moment, you can always head down to LA for a rave (my plans for this weekend).

~ Well, enjoy your time here in California. It is the most beautiful place I have ever been. Everything here is beautiful... everything.
