Arrow Welcome All! Read here for details concerning this thread!

Hello Fellow Cal Poly Students,
I am the new administrator to the ongoing teacher review websites covering Cal Poly Pomona. The previous website setup in 1998 was titled "The Good The Bad The Tenured" and has been providing good quality service till 9/04. For multiple reasons explained in other threads, I am taking over the website under it's new domain www.gradecalpoly.com .

The new website focus is essentially the same: Helping students pick classes that are right for them. Along with offering the traditional teacher review system that allows students to give and read teacher reviews, there is a new grading system, and schedule finder.

These two new features work together to provide students with fast and easy schedules, saving them hours every quarter and helping their college education!

Like the previous site admin, Zoe, I wold like these forums to be used to:
-Suggest Features/Improvements to GradeCalPoly.com
-Complain about bugs in GradeCalPoly.com
-Discuss anything related to GradeCalPoly.com

I will be around these forums, as well as tending my website for many many more years so we'll have plenty of time to get to know eachother! If you have anything you want to bring to my specific attention, please feel free to e-mail me at PandaMoOo@gmail.com

Thanks!

Welcome to the Cal Poly forum PandaMoOo. Yup, the GoodBadTenured.com webmaster has retired from Good, Bad, and the Tenured and moved on to better things in life (bigger paycheck ).
I know GradeCalPoly.com will be great for the students.

I recieved my second angry comment about the website, which of course I take as a grain of salt... but I'll post it up here for comment.
Quote:
"This site is absolutely ridiculous. All the reviews are nothing but brown nosing, kiss up, love fests for professors, some of which I know from personal experience, don't deserve it. It's absolutely pathetic. Way to go Cal Poly, you have taken what was once a valuable tool for students and turned it into a joke. Keep up the good work. I hope everyone associated with this website gets fired. P.S. What are the goal and intentions of this website?"
Of course, I don't review comments myself and can not establish them as truth or not true. My first angry comment I gotta say said the opposite of this person! They said that they hate the site because good teachers get reammed on it.

I shall take this time to put a "Contact" page on the website so people know who to complain to, also I will put our purpose on the front page... and what people can do to help. I wish more people wrote comments... that's how you fix it! Not by complaining to an admin. Oh well... party on people

It is strange that the person who contacted you seems to think that Cal Poly runs GradeCalPoly.com.

Heh... and that we should be fired? Based on what students submit? I mean... not completely logical there. I'll be glad to be fired! If only I was payed... well, more then peanuts. Silly students.

Wow I never got complaints like that when I was running the site. The only complaints I got were from professors who thought some of the comments were unfair. The worst one was threatening legal action, but it was an empty threat. Perhaps some fine print is in order to clearly state the it is a non-profit website that is not affiliated, endorsed nor condemed by the university. I had that at the bottom of my front page.

The front page does have something along the lines of what you are talking about. Was this added recently? I don't recall seeing it before.

Yes I added the new description on the front page to help people understand the purpose a little more. Good at noticing
