Zodiac signs

I've always been a bit interested in astrology, both Greek and Chinese signs. How much do you think your sign(s) reflects your personality? Do you think the descriptions are fairly accurate, or just a bunch of vague BS?

I personally think there's something to the personality descriptions, but most of the daily horoscopes are BS. What's your opinion?

Indian astrology is very accurate. I have had people read my hands and analyze my charts and tell me things about me that only I know. When i say charts i mean planetary allignments and how each planet influences your life. They determine the planetary allignments based on your DOB, time, and place of birth. However, everything should be taken with a grain of salt. But there are really good people in india that really know whats going on. Kinda freaky.

I haven't been exposed much to Indian astrology. Do they have signs that represent you like in the astrology of other cultures?

all that stuff is BS... what they say is true to like 90% of the ppl. They aren't accurate... they are just good at reading a person (how they look, dress, talk, etc) and from their make their BS assumptions.

I have to agree with JP. It's just like those horrorscopes. General predictions that could be happen to anyone at anytime. Now if they were to tell me something with specific details, ie. look out for a red suv on broad street driven by psycho redhead. I'd be a believer. I mean, they can't even get the weather right!

I got a prediction ya. Tomorrow, you will reap the benefits of your work.

You talkin' trash about my hometown? Heh, go right ahead. Inglewood is just where I live, it's never felt like a "hometown" to me.

Anyway, isn't 90% a pretty high percentage of accuracy? I wouldn't say that all the descriptions are true, but there are usually exceptions to the rule, as with most things in life. I think the personality descriptions are more accurate than the weather forecasts though. I stopped believing the weatherman a long, long time ago. There was one time during my high school days in San Diego when the weather forecast called for 99% chance of rain. I was really excited because it hardly ever rains there. And the next day.... nothing. Just clouds, not even a sprinkle.

I myself am an Aries. Back in high school when I first started reading about it I didn't think the personality descriptions fit me at all. I didn't think I was brash, headstrong, loud, stubborn, or outgoing. Later on I found out that different books on the subject have a different "voice" in describing the personality traits. Some are more objective than others. I think that first book I read had something against Aries because it was mostly listing the negative traits.

Anyway, who really knows themselves that well in high school anyway? Later on I found myself displaying more qualities of an Aries person... I never realized it before but I tend to blurt out what's on my mind without thinking much about it first. I'll get mad but forget about it quickly. It wasn't until I crawled out of my shy high school shell that I figured out what I was really like. And it seems more in line with the sign description than ever before. I find it fascinating.

He was refering to the fact that the claims are so vague that 90% of people would agree to it. An example could be "you are a happy person, but you sometimes you feel sad". That claim is so vague that it would cover most people.

So basically you exhibited both traits throughout your life, yet you only pay attention to your current one since it matches your predicted profile. If instead, you were stubborn in highschool and only now became shy, you could say that you outgrew your predicted profile. Either way you could conclude that the prediction is true.

I point it out when I notice that someone is incorrect in their reasoning. If there were no false claims in any of the threads I read on this board, then I would not make posts in correction.

Lol what do you prove when you correct them? No one wants to reason the way you do anyway. I like enchiladas.

I made no claim about proving anything. Are you dyslexic?

Uh hello. You point it out when I notice that someone is incorrect. AKA Proving them wrong. You must be god.

Pointing something out is far below the level of proving something. And how does proving someone wrong equate to being God? People prove hypotheses to be false very often, does that mean that they are gods?
