Your Favorite Operating System?

Mac OS X! I mean, would you rather be a Tiger or a Longhorn?

Negating games, and the fact that Apple's hardware is overpriced compared to similar performing PCs...what are the main points that attract people on this forum to Windows, x86 Unixes, or Mac OS?

To me, Mac OS X embodies a clean, if somewhat non-customizable, design, excellent development API (Cocoa), a Unix-based back-end, and a philosophy of consistency.

Perhaps the last one is something that Microsoft should also force developers to adhere to, I don't need to find where preferences is depending on the developer's taste...it's always under the menu that bears the name of the application...I don't need to look in Edit or Tools or whatever.

I love linux for the stability and the price, I'm running my servers on linux. But for compatibility Win XP Pro is unbeatable.

Win2k/Xp PRO

I've been using Windows all my life, so I haven't had much hands on Mac OS

I really like the hardware design of Apple products. But I can't see myself owning one because it costs too much and quite impossible to upgrade internal hardwares. Thumbs down for that.
Never used Linux operating system although I was once tempted when I was told that you can download the softwares for free online.
