Okay, since you say that it is for me to decide, then I'll say there exists no God.

And by the way, it's Cryogenics... not cyronics. A benevolent God gave us dictionaries, use them wisely.
It also does sound a little contradictory with the fact that you termed religion as having a valid view and then used the words "all religioius nuts".

Steven, are you going to hang around and let sides go to their sides? I'm talking about the cyronics issue.

I'm sorry. I meant to say that you're one hell of a crazy religious freak. That's all.

You guys need some serious help, starting with your language. It's spelled CRYONICS. You know, three syllables, two vowels. CRY-O-NICS.

Speaking of Cryonics, have you guys actually seen these frozen especimens (humans) come back to life after being frozen?

Come on man. I am not religious. I just believe! There are reasons why the Bible says the things that it says. Maybe if more people saw eye to eye with me in the future then they would know that I am not religious.

True life over religion!

What's your take on cryonics?

Cryonics, you mean.

Sorry, unless I see (besides in a movie, which is, in case you didn't know, fiction) a person wake up after being frozen for a long period of time, I cannot fully believe the capacity of this method.

I also don't know much about the procedure or how it works, but I'm sure it's fascinating. If I had more time to do research, I'd probably find out more to give you an answer. From what I understand from the concept of freezing people for long periods of time, I can't seem to find any ethical questions to the procedure besides that you're dealing with humans. If they're dead, then I don't see any problem. But if they're frozen alive, then you've got a big problem because the procedure would have to stop every single functioning organ in the body (right?) in order to be "preserved." That's pretty much the definition of killing.

hey look, I got to edit my posts. Where's proof that I mispelled now? Haha. That's pretty neat though. Well, bad spelling must be the reason I wasn't getting the right definition.

How are the finals going?

I'm actually CPP alumni. No more finals for me! Well, unless I decide to go after my masters one day. Still thinking about that one.

There is not much left to say about it. Ketcham already summed it up fairly well. The people are already dead, so if the procedure works, then it is good for them. If no such thing is even possible then they lose nothing because they essentially no longer exist.

Cryonics seems like a waste of time and money to me. Most diseases eat away at you until you can't fight it anymore. When you die of your disease, is what's left of your diseased body still salvageable? A car that is partially rusted but still runs at a basic level can be saved and restored. But a car that is rusted through and through just isn't salvageable. You can't do anything with a pile of rust just like you can't do anything with a pile of diseased flesh. Are these people therefore waiting in a freezer for us to maybe build robots that can use a human brain to function? Kinda like in one of the Robocop movies where ED209 is all machine except for the brain.

Perhaps, or maybe a replicated body, created using their DNA, to put their brain in.

If they come back alive as the term cryonics implies, that's something to really think about. How would you like a modern version of Frankenstein cursing this doomed world with his fists?

If those wierd bureaucrats make a proposition out of that, I will vote NO. I'm sure a super majority will disallow this from ever happening. What good is there in squeezing back the juice of life? At least leave the Christians at peace, let them reign in heaven. Hallelujah!

How does coming back to life equal Frankenstein?

What you have just said is in no way related to cryonics, just like your previous post. It seems like all you can do is use your gut reaction rather than logic. Please think before making your next post.

I would have posted a lot sooner, if this post came via e-mail!

Well cryonics is bringing people back from the dead. Frankenstein was brought back from the dead. It's my literary illumination about the topic. I was pointing out a moral scenario that are dealt with this matter. Ethics does play a role in swaying the burden of proof. One cannot live on the basis of just pure logic. It is very likely you are in accordance with me because that is madness! We cannot even program a computer to do thinking for us yet. Trust me, I know.

You have a gut reaction about life too. After using logic, you used what you thought was the right way. You felt it is good for people to benefit off of cryonics. My belief is pure life from quality not quantity.
