Wireless network issues

The wireless network in the Library won't authenticate my laptop's wireless card. It is internal, but it's not a Centrino. The control panel describes it as a Dell Wireless WLAN 1350 adapter. I've installed and configured AEGIS per the IT departments instructions, and I think i've got the correct username/password (tried it in one of the lab's computers while I was over there and it worked fine for logging into the network). Any ideas?

Thanks.

I personally had bad range issues with my internal wireless card and AEGIS. Although no problems with a better ranged adapter. Are there any other networks you can't get onto? Just one?

Can anyone else get onto it?

I suspect range... there are different wireless access points on different floors of the library i believe. I don't like our wireless solution on campus. Good luck!

Haven't tried the other access points yet, and I saw other people in the same area as me using the network so I think it was an isolated issue. I'll look around tommorow and see if I can't get on at another point.

Thanks.

Make sure you are using the LEAP Wireless Sercurity and not WEP.

The password for using the wireless internet is different from the pw you use for email and network.

You need the pw for the intranet.

Here is more info on wireless wifi.
Visit the IT&T office for help. But for those that own a Mac, better to visit the CLASS computer lab.

Tried it on all 3 networks in the Library, and the one in the marketplace, still no luck. The login name and password should be the same as that that I use to log onto the Intranet, right?

Any ideas?

you need to CREATE A NEW password ONLY FOR WIRELESS INTERNET. It can not be the same as your intranet/email password. it must be new and unique.

If you're still having trouble, go see the IT&T department, they're pretty helpful for common things such as this.
