Watch Out for Road-raging Senior Citizens

Are you comfortable driving on the road along with elderly folks?

I sure am not. I would feel comfortable if the elders had their personal driver or the city comes up with a new transportation system for the elders.
I've had few incidents on the street where I could have had a major car accident due to elder drivers.

Elders do not have a keen driving skill and their driving focus is their front view, not the cars around them. Alot of times, elders do not look to their left or the right before making a lane change and that is where we need to pay more attention to. Nobody wants to get into a car accident. We want to be safe and not worry about getting into an accident.

Glad to see this commentary on the Poly Post (Oct. 21).

I have only been in one accident (*knock on wood*) and it was not my fault.

A 91 year-old man ran the red light and heavily damaged the front of my car. So I feel the SAME way you do...

I don't mind the elders driving slow since they are driving at the speed limit.

What scares me on the street are the hispanics that drive recklessly. I'm not only blaming the hispanics but it is like an everyday basis to me. I'm very worried if they don't have insurance.

LOL! I was next to a granny who was driving a coupe (forgot the make of the car)...I was in the center lane and she was in the lane to the right-side of me...light turns green and I punched it so I could get over...I couldn't believe it and she floored it as well!!...I was like WTF?! ...she finally let go and I was able to get over...she must have been quite the spirited driver back in the day...lol

Senior citizen driver are one to thing to worry about...how about the reckless drivers during traffic hours.

During traffic peak hours, you need to look out for all types of drivers. One accident can steal all your time and a bump in your insurance. Accidents are accidents, meaning, it is unexpected.

Traffic hours can be very stressful unless you manage your time inside the car. But what is there to do inside your car except to listen to the radio or your CD.

There are stereotypes for all ethnicity. I have seen few asian drivers and they need to drive a little more cautious. But where I live, the hispanic male drivers are careless driver with the "move out of my way" attitude. My buddy had an accident (I was on the passenger seat) with a hispanic male in this thirties and he didn't have insurance. I speak from experience.
