Question Wassup with the two holes in our water fountain?

Most of the water fountains in our campus have two holes. The drinking water comes out from the two separate holes.

Anyone know why? What are they mixing into out drinking water? Hahah.

Tap and formulated water. I bring my own bottle of water.
The water fountain near the entrance of building 9 taste rather good.

yes i prefer my own bottle, filled with water from either the commons or the unsuspecting staff lounge on the top floor of building17.
