![]() | TI-86 vs. TI-89 I'm interested in purchasing a graphing calculator and I was wondering what would be better for a computer science or electrical engineer: a TI-86 or TI-89. I would also like to know if there are any professors that ban the TI-89 on tests because of it's more advanced features. Many thanks in advance! Best, Kai |

![]() | I have never had a professor disallow a certain calculator, and there is a guy in a lot of my classes who even has the TI-92. I guess it depends on the teacher, but as for ECET professors, I have taken almost every one of them, and they have never had a problem with more advanced calculators.

All the images was black and white on the TI-89.Didn't matter since our testosterone level was sky high back in the high school days.
