I had thought that the terrorist group they claim did it, ETA, was mideastern, like MOST of the terrorist groups... but i assumed wrong.

It would look grim even more if we didn't have our war on terror.

did you notice how their election changed so dramatically?
The conservatives were poised to win but after the bombing
the people felt it was their fault for siding with the US and then
most voted for the socialist...

That just encourages and reinforces the terrorists.

It sets a precedent that they can just terrorize people to get their message across, and make people conform.

Anyone think that it could have been all set up using the ruse of Al Queda so that the socialists could gain power. (tightens tin foil hat)

Did terror acts ever make people conform? And most if not all terror acts send out negative messages and deteriorates their race.

Yes they send out negative messages with every act, but with people in spain reacting the way they did by swinging the vote the other way it says that it worked. And then others saying that they do not want to be associated with the US as to not be a target for terrorism, it sends the message to the bastards that they can get their with their methods.

They Win...

This is a reason the government does not negotiate with terrorists.

If you ever had to deal with a bully, jackass or spoiled child/adult you know this is how it works. By showing any sign that they are going to get their way you reinforce their behavior.

All these terrorist events in Europe, predictions of terror acts here in the U.S. and the number of American soldiers' death in Iraq, it doesn't look for good for George Bush on the upcoming presidential election.
Wonder how different U.S. history would be now if Al Gore was elected as the United States president for the 2000 Presidential Election.

The soliders will come home when the job is done.

You dont have to like or agree with the reasons for going there (personally I dont think we had enough reason to go), but you cant deny the fact that the US has to make Iraq stable before we pull out.

The consequences of not doing so will be very severe.

And dont listen to much to the news, they blow almost everything out of proportion. From people that have been there they say that the people only become agressive and yell when the news crews are around. Besides that they walk around miding their own business.
