Sniper - John Allen Muhammad

The 42 year old sniper that killed 10 victims around the Washington D.C. area, do you think he should get a lifetime sentence to jail or death sentence?

I am more towards the death sentence. Killing innocent civilians with no reason is plain out crazy. John Allen Muhammad wasn't insane either.

Video clips: http://www.newsday.com/news/nationwo...orld-headlines

And did Lee Malvo, the companion of John Allen Muhammad have his trial yet?
Reporters say that Lee has been mastermind by John but I think Lee was old enough to make his own decision. Killing innocent victims (and not one) = death sentence.

I thought they can't torture people in jail?
Staying in jail is like awarding the sniper. Death sentence seems appropriate and Im sure all the relatives of the victims agree with that.

I don't what the heck was wrong with those.
Humans shouldn't kill humans.
Only animals. Either way, I hope they do suffer.

We're not talking about physical torture in jail.

I want to see this guy live the rest of his life in jail thinking about what he has done. Mental torture...

Ak is right. Life in prison without the possibility of parole means the convicted would spend 23 hours each day locked up in a windowless cell.

40 years of life in such way would turn any sane person insane.

Death would rather be a comfortable alternative. The U.S. Death Sentences are conducted in the most painless way compare to all other nations / self-govern zones on earth.

Take away one's mind or one's life? Are the two equal in value?

What does he get to do in that one hour?
Either way, he deserves to be put out of sight. Including the younger sniper.

Not worth putting him in jail.
Put him to death and make the victim's family happy.
Heck, our tax money pays for the food that is fed to the criminals in jail.

although that is true.... it costs more to kill a person... like $2 million, and thats because of the hearings and lawyer and judge fees and stuff like that.

Virginia Beach
Sniper convicted: John Allen Muhammad was found guilty this week of one of the sniper murders that terrorized the Washington, D.C., area last year. Muhammad became the first person to be convicted under Virginia's new terrorism law; prosecutors said he and Lee Boyd Malvo, 18, had tried to spread panic so the government would pay them $10 million to stop. Malvo is on trial in nearby Chesapeake, Va., for one of the other 10 murders. Prosecutors say Malvo and Muhammad worked as a two-man team, picking their targets at random. Jurors found Muhammad guilty after just six hours of deliberations, and then immediately began debating whether he should be put to death. "Your decision will put John Muhammad in a box of one form or another," his laywer told jurors. "One is made of concrete. And one is made of pine."
