School on a President's Day? Only Cal States?

Why does Cal Poly Pomona have classes on the President's Day? All my UC friends are having that day off. Sucks more for those that got midterms tomorrow.

The move the holiday to the end of the year, so that campus can be shut down between xmas and new years and get paid (more for the staff than for the students, cause we are not here anyway)
