![]() | A: I don't think about that. I go to Home Depot and pick up one of the white bulbs that will replace the old bulb. Q: Why the heck is flood insurance even required for a house that resides in a community that have not suffered flooding in many years or ever? (Stupid FEMA) |

| Fire-breather | A: Songs, sad or otherwise, often remind me of a period in my life, or even an exact moment. But generally speaking listening to a sad love song does not make me think of past [failed] relationships. Q: If you have to pay your own electricity bill (meaning it isn't paid for already by the building) are you more conscious about leaving lights on and saving energy? |

| Fire-breather | A: I got lucky and never had to go through wisdom tooth extraction. I have two wisdom teeth where only two of the 4 cusps popped out. It's like they started to grow, then changed their minds and stayed in place instead. Costs for wisdom tooth extraction could be offset by dental insurance, if you have it. Q: Anyone else have wisdom tooth price quotes or stories? |

![]() | A: I was quoted $280 per tooth at one dental lab. But thanks to a buddy from church, I might get a sweet discount because of his referral. I'll come back with a story once the wisdom teeth are removed.Q: Isn't ramen (noddles) a lifesaver?!

| Fire-breather | A: Not in the long-term. If you look on the ingredients list and see "partially hydrogenated soybean (or any kind of veggie) oil" then it's a package of slow-working poison. Your body doesn't know what to do with this stuff. While your young it won't make a difference, but you're body will be stockpiling this stuff over time. Q: Before I found out how awful trans fats were, I used to break up the ramen in the bag, open the bag, pour about half the soup base into it, shake it up really well, and eat it like a bag of chips. Anyone else ever do this? |

| Fire-breather | A: Only sometimes. I try to remember to bring some lunch, if I have anything available. That's why I love dinner leftovers. Makes the lunch dilemma the next day a lot easier to solve. Buying lunch everyday would get expensive. Q: Where are some of your favorite hangouts? |

| Fire-breather | A: Oh I hated going to classes there! It's at the top of a huge hill. I'd ride my bike to the foot of that hill then walk up the stairs because it was easier than trying to bike up the road. It's at the southwestern part of campus, next to the Kellogg West Conference Center. Unless I'm being confused and Kellogg Ranch is actually the Arabian horse ranch? Anyway, both places are on this map here: http://www.csupomona.edu/map/campus/campus.shtml Q: Anyone ever been to the student-run restaurant up there? Last edited by zoedragon; 10-18-04 at 10:45 AM. ![]() | A: No idea where it is located and how much it cost and if it is a walk-in basis service. I did visit the Kellogg House Pomona up on the hills though. Q: Is the Kellogg Ranch the same as the Kellogg House Pomona?

| Fire-breather | A: As jayandbutton said, Kellogg Ranch is completely separate from Kellogg House. Most universities view their alumni as a heard of money cows waiting to be milked. The rich alumni are their prize cattle of course. That's what the Kellogg House is for. "The Restaurant at Kellogg Ranch" (what an original name, huh?) is open for dinner only, as I recall (unless they changed it). It's upscale dining with "classy" menu items like filet mignon and original fancy desserts. Expect a longer wait for your food than usual because it's students doing the cooking and wait-staffing (and overseen by professional chefs). But the food is pretty good. Probably kind of expensive too. I hardly ever saw any students who were there to dine during my stint there. Probably a nice place to bring a date because of the good food, elegant decor, and the view from outside. Reservations are recommended. Q: Now that you know about this place, any of you interested in checking it out? |
