| Fire-breather | A: I always thought that was lazy and stupid. X is commonly used as a shortcut for "cross" because an X is basically two lines crossed. So "Ped Xing" signs are common (pedestrian crossing). But to apply it to Christmas I think is incorrect. After all, it isn't Crossmas! Q: What kind of environment is your ideal workplace?

![]() | Q: Why do some call Christmas, X-Mas?[/quote] I heard that in Greece (I think), they call Him Xristos. There you get an X. Otherwise, I heard it was an atheist way of eliminating Christ from Christmas. ("crossing" him out of Christmas) Anywho, moving on... |

| Fire-breather | A: In other words, if I was the President of the United States? ![]() Ok, ok, I probably would speed more, and cheat on my taxes, and maybe shoplift here and there. Q: Have you ever been at an empty intersection at a red light, waiting and waiting, and there was no one around, so you decided to just go anyway?

![]() | A: No I haven't. Q: Does anyone know what that one church is called? It is located in the mid states (either Wyoming, Dakota, Montana), along the way to Yellowstone National Park, and inside the main sanctuary, microphone is not required because of how the interior was built.

![]() | A: Oh, yes. Every summer, when my sister and I were younger, our parents used take off two weeks. For those two weeks, we would go some place like Yellow Stone National Park or Sequoia National Park. Sequoia was pretty neat because it has giant red wood tress. Q:What is your favorite holiday treat? |

| Fire-breather | A: I do enjoy me some pumpkin pie with whipped cream. Mmmmmm... I also have a particular weakness for rice crispy treats, during any part of the year. Q: Which part of the holidays is your favorite? For example, sleeping in, family gatherings, presents, lots of pies, etc.

![]() | A: The modern Santa Claus is a composite character made up from the merging of two quite separate figures. The first of these is Saint Nicholas of Myra, a bishop of Byzantine Anatolia (now in modern-day Turkey) famous for his generous gifts to the poor. In Europe he is still portrayed as a bearded bishop in canonical robes. The second character is Father Christmas, which remains the British name for Santa Claus. Father Christmas dates back at least as far as the 17th century in Britain, and pictures of him survive from that era, portraying him as a well-nourished bearded man dressed in a long, green, fur-lined robe. He typified the spirit of good cheer at Christmas, and was reflected in the 'Spirit of Christmas Present' in Charles Dickens' famous story, A Christmas Carol. <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_claus> Q: Did you finish your holiday shopping or are you waiting for the after-Christmas sales? |

| Fire-breather | A: Finished it last week, thank goodness. I'm trying to avoid any and all stores for the rest of the year, except for grocery shopping. I value my sanity. I know someone who is unwisely trying to buy an Xbox for his son this week. ALL the stores he's visited, online or retail, have jacked up their prices to $250 or more. It's ridiculous, but oh well, supply and demand. I told him to wait until they drop back to their NORMAL $149 price tag. Q: Would you want to live in a place that snowed? (Enough to require regular shoveling.)

| Fire-breather | A: Depends on what I'm craving... If I want a salad bar, then I'll pick Sizzler. If I want to stuff myself silly with everything else then Hometown. However the quality of food at Hometown Buffet leaves something to be desired. Maybe I'll stick with Sizzler. Q: Onions or garlic? (I'm a garlic person myself.)
