| Fire-breather | Question about PS2 and Xbox games Playstation sells "Greatest Hits" versions of their best-selling past games at reduced price. Xbox does the same thing, only they call it "Platinum Hits". Is there a difference between these versions and the original? Why do some people not want to buy Great Hits versions?

The levels of "bonus materials" can often vary between the games, so it is better to do some research before buying them (like checking out amazon or other online merchants and see what the customer comments say about them). | |

![]() | I never knew the platinum and the Greatest Hits had extras and different features from the original version. I thought the price was reduced greatly to boost up the sales and the game was indeed a greatest hit. zoedragon, I heard Fable is a real fun RPG for XBox. |

| GCP.com Admin | mmm... even better for xboxes is loading a custom dashboard on them so you can install different third party software! I play movies through my home network using the xbox like a networked media center, it's awesome You can also save games to your hard drive so you don't need to swap discs... but who plays games when you can watch recorded TV shows? ![]() |

| Fire-breather | I think they may be confusing Platinum or Greatest Hits with "Game of the Year" version. I think KayCee might be right, that popular past games are repackaged and brought back for increased sales. I just wish they wouldn't have put out so many stinking versions. Two is enough, three is confusing. Yes I am eager to play Fable. I'm still waiting for the price to come down though. I very rarely buy a game within the first 4 months of its introduction, too expensive. Maybe later when I'm rich I won't care, but right now I still think on a college budget.

| Fire-breather | That's a nice service to know about. I have thought about renting games. However I tend to play RPGs, and at the rate that I play (very infrequently) I usually take months to be finished with one. At that rate it's cheaper for me to buy it. I can then sell it after I'm done. Much more cost effective for me.
