Professors grading in curve

Does most of your professors/instructors grade the exam in a curve system? How do you feel about the curve system?
Well, two of my professors did for the midterm.

I have never seen the curve system benefit the students who do mediocre on their exams. It is because, there are always one or two students that does extremely well and in addition to their near perfect score, they get most of the extra credit questions right also. They deserved it. My point is, curve on an exam never works. BTW, my midterm results were .

That is when students benefit from the curve system but as of today, there were at least one or two students that received a high A, which defeats the purpose of curving. I was never the high A student.

almost all my teachers curve, which is cool for the people with good grades. For example, I've never gotten higher than an 89 on my ochem, yet thanks to the curves I've gotten an A one quarter and an A- another... Same for other classes like bio. I don't know how much it really benefits us as students, other than getting As even though we don't do 100%. I don't think the curves really kill the average scoring people, because I think they do, or should, take into account that the highest isn't representative of all, neither is the lowest...
anyways, there's my 2 cents

i choose all my teachers strategically by how EASY (not good, but easy) they are. If they curve or not may or may not fall in my favor. goodbadtenured.com has nevr let me down

I have had a substantial number of proffessors curve the class grades. The curving has always been in the students favor though. I don't think many students nowadays would put up with getting a C if they got an 85% on a test.

Moreover, what do you guys think about grade inflation at Cal Poly Pomona? Is it too easy to pass most classes?

No, if you don't work for it, then you won't pass. There's no curving in my art history class and the exam is just nightmare....
