Parking ticket

Has anybody ever recieved a parking ticket for forgeting to put your permit on the dash. I totally forgot to bring my parking permit to school and took the risk to park and got ticket. Can I just bring the ticket to the police station and show my proof of parking permit and have them write it off?

I think you can try to appeal it with the parking service (I don't think the police station handles that (but try it first so you don't have to drive all the way to the parking service's weird location), the parking service station is on the other side of the campus somewhere near the farm field. I was at the parking service station once to drop off a friend, but it was two years ago and I can barely remember how to get there anymore (it is off the way from most of the buildings).

Check with the information officer at the ground entrance of the CLA building and they should show you the location of the parking service building, or go to the police station.

I got a ticket because I forgot my permit. I went and talked to the parking service people and explained what happened. They let me go...they said they let you get away with one ticket a quarter.

I received a ticket when I forgot to have my permit posted near the car windshield. I visited the parking service and they didn't let it go.

The parking service building is right across the Alamitos dormitory. It is also the campus police station. Near the CLA building.

I have never received one, but I was told during my "Welcome to Cal Poly" orientation that they will in fact waive one ticket per quarter since they know "sometimes you are in a hurry and forget the decal..." That is nice of them

Maybe you should try talking to them again, and ask them about what I stated above?

FYI, you can use your permit on the new quarter for up to one week. After the one week period, you need to purchase a new permit (current quarter) or else you get a ticket.

I haven't got a ticket yet.
