Need Spanish translation

I see a lot of street vendors selling cocos & tejuino. I know coco is coconut but what is tejuino? I can't find it in my spanish/english dictionary or on the web.

Is that the correct spelling? I typed in tejuino in spanishdict.com and nothing. I'm curious now, go ask the vendors next time you're there.

It is correctly spelled, Tejuino. Let me explain what it is. It is a drink based on corn, or "maiz" as we say in spanish. I do not know exactly how it is made but i think the process is kind of similar as of brewing beer. They add some baking soda to your cup, some lime juice, finally they add this "brewed corn". This blend of ingredients gives you a salty drink with a taste of lime (obviously), I cannot think of a drink with a taste similar to tejuino but I love tejuino. The tejuino style depends on the region that you buy it. I explained the way it is made in Northen Mexico, but in Southern Mexico they serve this in a different way that I am not aware of, all I know that they serve it with a little alcohol content. I hope this answer your question.
