![]() | Are Matrix/Star Wars Original? Star Wars http://www.jitterbug.com/origins/ The Matrix The Directors (Wachowski Brothers) admit they are huge anime fans so go watch "Ghost In the Shell". On first glance (in Ghosts in the Shell) the similarities may seem superflous, neck jacks that connect you to vast computer networks, and the disturbingly similar credit rolls - ex. the green characters. When you look at the plot, without the sequences/events its very similar. Person has odd doubts about the world. Person engages on quest to find out the truth. Person *dives into otherworld*. Person finds truth. The story ends and the sequal manga is being produced at the moment. I think a lot of films could be considered very similar, if you remove the settings of the film, and look at the exchanges/plot points that advance the story. Although there is a very limited set, it becomes apparent where films draw their inspiration from. Just something I read online. But most movies are not original and based on earlier films and books.

![]() | I don't mind if the authors got their ideas elsewhere. They did a great job and the director/writers should get praised for their creativity. Both Matrix and Star Wars seemed very original and something that can not be accomplished for years to come. |
