List Lame things at School

1. No more use of Credit Cards, have to put bronco bucks on your ID.
2. The new Transportation System, really lame (i walk anyways, but use to park in B lot and was a lot easier)
3. The parking situation at school. our school likes to do things without thinking it out much.
4. Our Math Department, should be number one, but just came to mind. lucky i took most of my math at the JC level, great instructors.
5. New places to eat in the Union. awful sushi, wok and rome? chicken strip place is decent at best. starbuck workers to busy gabbing to offer service.
6. Greek week every quarter. think its a bit much, how about twice a year like at most universities?
7. Forcing graduating seniors to take ge's at CPP when they can be done in four week courses at a jc. =(

okay im done ranting, im sure you guys and gals have some good ones.

When did this start? Or does it begin in the Winter quarter?

2. The new Transportation System, really lame (i walk anyways, but use to park in B lot and was a lot easier)

I miss the old tram. All tram took you to the parking lot. The new system, only B takes you to the parking lot. Very lame.

5. New places to eat in the Union. awful sushi, wok and rome? chicken strip place is decent at best. starbuck workers to busy gabbing to offer service.

We need more burgers.

Lame
Increase in parking fee.
Commuter Environment.
Lack of huge sport events.

Not sure if it is for the food courts because I was able to use my credit card at Taco Bell. I also thought I used it at the student bookstore.

I don't notice the campus smell any longer. Is that a good thing?

-Not enough on-campus events.
-Lack of campus and organization competition.
-Lack of concerts and activities during student hour.

I hate the old crappy science buildings

Hate how everyone uses the computers all the time in the library and elsewhere for some stupid stuff when you really need to do something important.

Hate how the line for the printer in the place under the marketplace is always really long during finals.

Unhappy Transportation

2. The new Transportation System, really lame (i walk anyways, but use to park in B lot and was a lot easier)

This new transportation system sucks. What a waste of money our parking money. Many people used the old tram which went through the middle of campus. The most i've seen use the new tram at any point in time is 6 people and it doesn't even go through the campus. This is what their increasing our parking fees for? Ugh!!

Yeah, what gives. I prefer the tram to go through the middle of the campus. I see myself walking more often to the parking lot because I don't know which bus goes to parking F and which doesn't.

Some of the computers on campus are so old and dirty. I'm afraid to check my e-mails on certain pc because the pc looks insecure and filled with spywares.

Doesn't work as in you get the "busy" line (when too many students get on the phone at once) or the class is not available?

OT (off-topic): I attended a SCETA meeting last year where several engineer professors introduced the schedule for electrical engineer majors. IIRC (if I recall correctly) one of the club member said he disliked the voice response system and an engineer professor replied, if any person, student or non-student, comes (introduces/invents) up with a better system than the current voice resopnse system, that person will be rewarded big time. Better as in, more efficient and productive.

I wonder if any of you still remember that "Pizza with President" event. IIRC our President mentioned something about a web-based registration system that will go on-line for summer or fall '04.

I'm curious how they're gonna handle that load.

Lame things on campus:

1) food prices (although i have my own theory on why the prices are high, and if you want to hear it, you might have to just ask me)

2) bronco copy n' mail: they have cards that you have to purchase for a dollar, and not only that, you have to put extra money in the card to use it on the copy machies. Then you can get your dollar back when the quarter is over.

3) Ron Fremont

I agree, the old trams were a lot better. I liked chilling in front of the library waiting for them to take me to the lots. Now you have to walk farther just to get to the trams, by the time you get there you're already at your car!

I like to know your opinion on number one. I think the price of the food is fair. The fast food services are not at Cal Poly Pomona to rip off students. The owner (whether it be a separate owner or run by ASI or Cal Poly) needs to make her/his part of the money, royalty cost, and employee cost. And it brings job to the students and nonstudents.

And who is Ron Fremont? I know he is part of Cal Poly Pomona but not sure what his part is.

I also find the library very limited in books, textbooks, and references. It would be more beneficial for the students if Cal Poly Pomona decided on adding new books, reference textbooks "for each and every class" (at least one copy), and magazines in the library before spending a huge school budget on the new structure of the library. Or is this part of the new plan?
And new workstations in each floor.
