List Good Things about Cal Poly

Since there is a "List Lame Things About School," how about good things.

Cheaper tuition compared to UC schools and other private universities.
Wireless connection for notebooks.
Expansion of the student center - new fitness center and more food courts.
Quarter system. Faster than semester system.
Polytechnic university.

I really like the quarter system. Classes does not lag.
Foodcourts to eat at.
Being able to commute home right after class.

The quater system definitely gets my vote.
Also high on my list: Professor-accessibility. Love it when profs encourage students to visit him/her during office hours.
And of course the cost factor. I actually have money left from grants after tuition and books.

The sunny weather.
Vendors I like outside the student center.
ASI arcades and pool.
Computer labs around campus.
And the equal percentage of males and females on Cal Poly Pomona.

What I like about Cal Poly: The education and the reputation of Caifornia Polytechnic. But not all professors deserve to teach at Cal Poly.
The small campus. Its small compared to few UC.
Uphill. Going uphills towards the science and agriculture building is a good exercise after lunch. And coming downhills after class is nice.

Can't be the sunny weather and somewhat grassy quad.
New departments (engineer, student center, and future library expansion).
I enjoy college overall.

Why don't you use the field between the Engineer building (building 8) and the CLA building. I've seen engineer majors preparing to fly those RC helicopters.

It's not exactly close to any parking if I recall. When did they fly it also? It's kind dangerous to do it on weekday where there are traffic...

You are talking about the mini RC helicopters, right?
It wasn't near any parking space. It was sometime last quarter when three students were preparing to fly one of their projects out on the 'grass' area, the field next to the two engineer buildings. And it was on a weekday. Not sure about the parking space.

Nope mine burns methanol+nitromethan e. Here is a pic of it, the blade speed can reach 200 mph. So I don't think anyone want get hit by it, nor do I want to hit anyone with it.

That looks pretty cool. May we play with it?

OT: For how many minutes can it fly? And God forbid, if it runs out of fuel while airborne... it just drops right?

I am still in the hovering stage. Going to try forward flight this weekend. It can hover about 20+ minutes. I have added the header tank so you can have little reserve fuel.

Is that what engineer majors do these days??
I need to change my major then.

Good things about Cal Poly Pomona:
Tuition is low compared to private universities.
I can't really thing of anymore. Gosh, I suck.
