For instance: Most Math Classes requires a C or higher, some require a B or higher to move on (MAT105, 106) PHY131,132,133 require a C- to pass. There are other exceptions too I think. Most other classes except technical classes, you should be okay, when in doubt; ask your advisor! | |

![]() | What happens to a student's transcript if he takes a class over again? If the old grade is completely eliminated, I might consider taking one class over again. I received a C in MAT116 during a quarter when I was apathetic toward studying. That C ruins my record of mostly As. It is especially bad since I probably will apply to grad school. |

![]() | From what I understand is that if a student repeats a course, the both grades will count in your GPA unless you file a course repeat form. If you file a repeat form then only the second grade will count in your GPA. A student can only file for 16 units. Both grades will appear on your transcript with a notation that the first grade has been replaced. As good rulb of thumb is when in doubt check with your advisor, the catalog, or both. |

| GCP.com Admin | Correct. Both grades count towards your GPA until you fill out the grade replacement form. You're only allowed to replace up to 16 units. Also, an important thing to note is you're only allowed to replace grades C- or below I believe. "C" is unreplacable. |
