![]() | Friendly goose is dead. Hello everyone. I regret to inform all of you that the friendly campus goose, affectionatley named Mr. Waggles by some students was found dead today at the pond near the dorm. This is the goose with the ruffled feathers, that would playfully attack people that walked by it. A girl who used to feed it reported the incident on a myspace cal poly group thread. No word on how it died. It was just found lifeless in the pond. Truly a sad day. |

![]() | I think Mr.Waggles often forgets who is in charge of the campus. The pond and all surrounding areas are courtesy of us and he has no right to block the tram rides, occupy the parking spots and trying to intimidate pass-bys as he felt like it. We even provided him with mating priority than the other male goose. Everytime he blocks a tram, force a pass-by to take detour, or take some form of action that satisfy its infinite ego, he would think himself as "hot stuff". Pretty ungrateful considering how he thinks he is the king of the pond and harrasse pass-by humans - the current de facto rulers of this planet. |

![]() | Damn survival-of-the-fittest theory! Damn humans! It wasn't the goose's fault. It was all our fault. We didn't care enough for that poor goose and now I'm not going to be able to go back to the pond and feed it. Damn humans! |

| Fire-breather | Geese are known to be pretty good watch dogs. If its feathers were constantly ruffled it might have had some kind of disease. I have a canary whose feathers, once neatly smoothed, gradually became more and more ruffled. When we took a closer look we could see strange bumps and growths on its skin, it was kinda gross. It's weird though, because other than that, the bird acts healthy and is as active as usual.

![]() | "leftovers from the Los Olivos" I heard this home-grown Cal Poly poison is known for its potency. Is it true? "I was petting him the friday before break =/" He let you pet him? I thought he was a highly aggressive goose. Now that might explain the ruffled feathers! |

| GCP.com Admin | Man! I remember the times I'd cruise by there and the duck would chase me away, I'd try to scare it away by standing tall and wide and it'd just quack at me and chase me faster!! What a crazy duck! I hated that duck... but in a loving way. Rest In Peace, My Dear Friend Goose/Duck/Thing. |

![]() | OK - it actually the deceased is actually a duck, not a goose. Geese have bumps on their beaks. The big fluffy white things are ducks, as are the dark brown and green ones (they are called mallards). And they have the slimiest crap ever. I used to raise ducks in my backyard before I moved (when my family moved there were coyotes in the area, so we couldn't keep the ducks). We fed them cheerios and they had slippery crap, but the were cute and noisy. In fact, I am convinced that the ducks on campus are the ones my family used to have as pets. By the way, I have seen at least one goose on campus. |
