Question Is the forum dead? Where's everyone?

Old members check in. Where did everyone go? We used to have some good discussions going on and good sport updates.

I'll see if I can get something started. I like the new changes admin.

I'm working on a few ideas to get the forum up and running again. New freshmen will be entering both Cal Polys this Fall and I'll see if I could incorporate Myspace and Facebook into the marketing strategy.

I'll send out the first e-mail newsletter around late Summer or Fall introducing new features to our registered members.

Last but not least, if you guys have any suggestions and good ideas, let me know about it. I like to think outside the box and work on the site but everyone is busy with school and work.

Hi there Admin and Young Entrepreneur-

Its nice to hear from old friends. I agree with Young Entrepreneur that the forum is not as active as it has been in the past. Admin, I have an idea for you. When you distribute the Cal Poly Online newsletter include as many groups as possible. By this I mean send it out to Cal Poly Online members, Cal Poly Pomona students (students@csupomona. edu), and Cal Poly SLO (I don't know what the campus wide e-mail address is). Provide a brief intro as well as updates that have taken place. At least all students will be exposed to the forums and can choose to participate in the online community if they wish.

Better target the facebook and myspace pages cause everyones got one and on it day and night. Linkedin.com is a must too if you want to target alumni and professors.

It would make marketing so much easier if I could use the students@csupomona.e du group email but it is limited to a group of the university officials. We don't want spammers misusing the group emails and giving the university IT department a hard time.

I think the main problem is lack of new people on the board. for me i have been busy with school and work. I think the reason the board is dead is due to the lack of question some people have about the school. maybe discuss topics about other subjects than board maybe we will get more traffic.

I miss you guys. Its been a long time. I got some spam in my inbox, but I was glad to see this BB still exists. I'll put a link on my facebook so we can get new, active members. Keep it up, this is worth keeping!

You can register with a non-Cal Poly email address. There are certain email addresses that are blocked out because lot of the foreign spammers took advantage of that email address provider. If you use Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, and the like, it works fine.

It said my gmail account was banned. I just used my school email instead.

Good to see some of you.

Gmail e-mail address is not banned from the forum registration. Don't worry about registering with your school email, you'll never receive a spam from calpolyonline.
