![]() | I never heard about the EVO2K4 Tournament (EVO) before until now. And this is the 4th year that the event will take place at Cal Poly Pomona. I signed up and will be there on Thursday (July 29th). Anybody want to meet up during the show? I'm a nice asian guy. I'm not participating in any tournament but will be wandering around and taking pictures.

![]() | Are you going to be there Keng? No, I don't want my butt whooped in front of others. I'm a lover, not a fighter. I stick with RPG games (Final Fantasy series) and Halo.

| Newcomer | i'd like to meet up with ppl @ evo. Evo is $20 to get in and +$10 for every tournament you wish to enter. So... i'm just gonna go and chill out there since i'm not very good at fighting games at all. Also - Evo will be held in the new rooms on the 2nd level of the Bronco Student center. There will be plenty of space for gamers up there. anyone interested in training a newbie to fighting games? ^_^ i can't wait! I hope next week comes soon! |

I'll be going with a friend or two... so.... shall i wear a strange beanie to indicate who i am? As for paying $20. There is another option. Supposedly on the Boards (i've been reading around on Evo2k.com boards) the admin has been saying that you can go and watch the EVO tournament and not pay the admission fee (ie My girlfriend is comming to watch me play and she has to pay? blah blah blah... i just want to watch the tournament... i'm not compeating blah blah blah...). However - you won't be able to go into the "Bring your own console" room (BYOC Room). Where i think most people will be hanging out in that room while they are waiting between games. Though - Namco is sending a representative and they're planning to have a playable demo version of Tekken 5. So... it might be worth it.... i'm not too sure exactly but that's what i heard. i can't wait - i'm so excited.

![]() | ur girlfriend can probably just watch for free. I mean, I bet there's no big 7' foot, black bouncer there. lol as for the BYOC lounge, I don't have any games on me. I'll tell my friend to bring his Guilty Gear or something. I dunno. what time does the thing start? or...what time are you planning to go? cuz noticing ya by your beanie might be hard if there is lots of people. So you can probably text message my friend or something. oh yea, and does 20 bucks cover all 3 days (I hope) or is it 20 bucks per day? |

Registration and the BYOC room starts Thursday at about 3PM and goes until 11PM. Tournaments and what not start Friday - Sunday from like 10AM till 11PM. I've got some strange beanies to wear... i'm not exactly sure when i'll be going. maybe drop buy on thursday after my class for registration and go hang around thursday and see whats going on. though my beanies are beyond weird... i'll probably wear my usual black one with horns on them. though Anime freaks who are at Evo might wear them too... but I'm a chick - so i think that limits that down quite a bit. ^-^;;;
