Have you guys ever wondered, with all this anonymity going on in this website, that maybe we know each other. I mean, maybe the person next to you in class is someone you know in this website. I often wonder about it.

What do you think? What would be the odds of knowing someone in class without knowing that they're someone in this site?

I wish there were more SLO students on this board; I doubt that I would know anyone in person here.

I've seen quite a few girls surfing the site in the library. Wasn't sure if they were lurking or actually logged in.

Maybe you're right. When I posted my schedule for Fall 2004, I discovered that someone here at calpolyonline was also in one of my classes. Pretty neat, huh?

I think only one or two people here know who I am, but don't know what I look like. So if they would bump into me outside the net, they wouldn't know who I was.

So, even if you do know who I am, please don't point me out. I'd like to keep coming here as an anonymous source. Thanks.

Unless you posted your photo I think there's very little chance someone would discover your identity on this board. They'd have to be looking over your shoulder as you were typing to see who you were posting as. Even if you knew a poster's real name, you wouldn't recognize them in person unless they got called in class.

I'm completely positive that none of you would ever run into me because the only time I'm ever in Pomona these days is to drive through it on the 10 freeway, usually to get to Ontario Mills. Well, I guess it's possible you could run into me if you were driving, but my car and I would be quite unhappy about it. I just got my bumper fixed you know.

According to GradeCalPoly.com someone by the name of "Stephen" whose alias is addboy1326 is going to have two classes the same as me. I don't know if they surf calpolyonline.com though. Gradecalpoly.com has a "find users that declared they are taking the same classes as me" button.

I've met a few forum members on campus to exchange textbooks, club field trip, and to have a chat.
One of the group member asked me if I operate the website because I used a calpoly yahoo e-mail address. Later found out, he was one of the early registrant to the board.

During my CPP days I participated in a local bulletin board that I think was run by the school. We had to use our school account to log in. Anyway, the core group of users decided it would be fun to meet. We had a little gathering I can't remember where... I recall we met outside somewhere. We ended up standing around chatting for at least an hour. It was pretty fun to match faces with usernames and compare their in-person personality with their online persona. It was also interesting to see that some people were much creepier in person than online. All in all I thought it was a great experience.

I agree: somethings in life we shouldn't mess with. I mean, we are a random bunch of CPP people who like to be on the computer a tad too much. It should stay that way. If we knew each other in another form, what would happen? It's taboo or something.

HELLO GUYS!! I ONCE IN THE VERY VERY BEGINNING MADE A THREAD ABOUT PUTTING PIXES UP OF URSELF!!! BUT I GUESS EVERYONE WAS A WUSS. MY PIX IS UP THERE, UNLESS KAYCE DELETED MY THREAD... PLEASE SOMEONE REVIVE THAT SUCKER!!!

I used to have a picture of myself up as well, but nobody else seemed to have one, so I got rid of it.

iwong = kaycee.... your control is only limited to deleting threads, posts, and filtering out the badwords... not to what ppl can say...

if 2 ppl REALLY LOVE EACH OTHER... then there's really not that much u can do 2 stop it... unless you delete their posts (like you have 2 me) that way they dont see what they have posted

I hope you don't have the power 2 delete Private Messages!!!
