When you drop a class within the given time period?

it just means that its going 2 show up in your record... it doesn't look good, but it DOES NOT AFFECT YOUR GPA AT ALL... i have like 3 W's myself

It might not look "good" for prospective employers and student recruiters.

You can still drop classes? I thought the last day to drop course was over weeks ago.

Not all companies look at the "W" on your record, especially if your G.P.A. is good enough. Do what is best for your academic record.

I have one also on my record but I'm not worried about it. Is better to get a "W" than to not drop and get a low grade.

so let me get this straight, the LAST day to get a "W" is 2 weeks after the first day of class?

and you would need to talk to your advisor then have your professor sign the petition?

talked to the advisor today and she said it was ok... to have a couple of W's but too many in one qtr is bad.

because when u start the class:

1) u have no idea how the professor is. u may hate him @ first site that much 2 drop him by that time toget a W

2) ppl warn u by then (when its almost 2 late 2 drop him) to drop him

3) u find out there's another BETER class w/ open seats at that time and u drop it.

4) u get a job durin that time and u decide 2 drop that class 4 the job hours.

there could be many reasons.
