Unhappy College Tuition Will Increase Again!!

Cal Poly tuition will be increasing once again.
That is what my Marketing instructor told the classroom on Wednesday.
But I just forgot the reason why.
I'll found out tomorrow and post here.

Sad news for Cal Poly students.

Due to California debt (in billions) and budgetary crunch on the board of education, kindergarten to high schools will have a cutback.
Then the cutbacks will trickle up to the university level.

Old news.

I can't complain though....out tuition is nothing compared to USC. UCs are paying much more than us also.

I wonder if the tuition fee for community colleges are going to increase or not. $11 per unit

They already have! I think they only went up a few bucks per unit this time though. They wanted to jump to $23 per unit!

Well, financial aid increased our Cal Grants to match the increased tuition. I hope that they do the same this time...

True, but how would you react if Cal Poly tuition was going to double!

You got to be kidding me! I am going to attend a community college nearby if the tuition goes double at a California state university.

Wonder how our new Governator going to handle school budget cuts and class size.

I sure hope they remove the students-per-classroom limit. It didn't work out well.

If you all have read the latest Poly Post issues, the school board told us that our tuition fee will not be increasing but who knows for how long.
In today's LA Times California section, "Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger plans to propose a 10% fee increase for Californians attending college at the University of California and California State University and a fee hike of up to 40% for graduate students at the universities, sources familiar with the governor's budget said Wednesday." (source LA Times)

Who knows for how long (quarters) Cal Poly Pomona's tuition will remain the same.

The tuition to public schools in California (including community colleges) is lower than most other states and we have so many colleges, maybe that's why we're in debt... not that I would want to support the raising of tuition (at least not until I graduate).
