| Fire-breather | Very good point Bryansix. Pride doesn't really have much use in college except to distract you from your studies. Why are we really there? To get a degree. Everything else should be secondary. I know when I was attending Cal Poly I just wanted to hurry up and finish so I could get the heck outta there. It wasn't so much the school, but I was just so sick of studying. I mean, we're in school since we're 5 or 6, and at some point our brains get tired of being crammed with [mostly useless] info. We never stop learning of course, but after you graduate you can learn what you WANT to learn, not because you have to jump through hoops to earn that piece of paper. Hmm, I think I originally had a point, but I've long since lost track of it....

![]() | Well some of you might want to get out of Cal Poly quickly as possible but if you were to be in schools like USC and UCLA, you might have a different goal set aside. You might enjoy participating in campus events and college football games and quite possibly, get into the pride& spirit of the campus. You won't think it as a distraction but rather, participation because you can't get enough of the environment and the colleagues around you. But that is only an opinion and everyone is different so can't generalize. And everyone that attends UCLA and USC are very proud of themselves and have pride in themselves. Who wouldn't. USC tuition is up there. You can't compare it with Cal Poly's tuition. But you get what you pay for. Once you are a USC grad, you are forever a Trojans. You get opportunities to network with high industrial leaders, get a higher position on your career and get more support from your fellow USC alumnis.
