Good job to the founder of this site...

Just wanted to know if Cal Poly pays you to do this? If not, how do you receive funding for this project? Thanks

Speaking from experience, a medium / low bandwidth hosting cost $5 - $10 per month to maintain, I used to work with phpBB and other SQL based forums and those were free, but the vBulletin here should cost from $85 - $160 per year (vBulletin sure does look better than phpbb!). The admins here must be very dedicated!

The google ad on the top right helps too!

I don't think this site is affilated with CSU Pomona, or the forum will indicate so. It is great to have a place like this to post messages related to the university!

Puffguts, welcome to the forum! I haven't met you yet.
Aristo2jzge, thank you for your kind words (we need more members like you ).

Puffguts is right on the spot. The forum is not related or affiliated with CSU Pomona. I wish Cal Poly would support the forum but I don't see that happening.

Thank you and enjoy posting and networking.

Well met KayCee! I enjoy the forum very much and thank you for the dedication. ASI should assist student projects like this one, but until then we will click those google ads and support the forums!

Maybe you should setup a paypal account to accept donations.

Or have some sort of "Premium Membership" ($5-10/yr) that would let us have avatars, more PM/sig space, and other stuff.

I USE OTHER FORUMS AND ALL THAT STUFF IS FREE!!!

I have never gone 2 a forum where THERE ARE NO AVATARS.

i definately would not pay $5-10 a month just so ppl can see a little picture next to my name.

$5-10 is a reasonable amount per year. Avatar is always a bonus. Lots of forums have pay-per-services as well. The IGN boards cost about the same to add avatars and to enable the "search" function (the basic IGN users can't search the forums ).

hey man, don't see it that way.

See it as your donation with benefits.
