![]() | 2004 The Bull Market Business section of the Los Angeles Times, money related magazines (Smart Money and Kiplinger's Personal Finance) and few stockbrokers believe and predict that the year 2004 will be the year of the Bull Market. What is the bull market? Bull market is "a market characterized by rising prices for securities." And when the market is decreasing, it is known as the bear market. The past three years (2002-2003) market was known as the bear market and millions of investors have seen their portfolio lose its value. Disappointing but that's how the economy works. The stock market has a higher risk compared to the mutual funds and CDs and also an higher return of growth in your investment. I was told by a stockbroker that it is "very" wise to start early on investing. Down the rode, your early investment will accumulate large growth thanks to compound interest. And for those that don't know where to start, choose a Traditional IRA account (tax-deferred).
