| Are you wearing your "I Voted" sticker? It was nice, my boss actually told everyone it was ok to come in late so you could have time to cast your vote in the morning. There was actually a line to get in too. I hope the turnout is as good everywhere else.
Despite the good turnout in my area, I'm worried about this new "dot" voting system. It seems to be worse than the chads! The lady who was showing everyone how it worked said she got there late, so the first hour had a lot of ballots that had no dots! I was like "WHAT???" These people are casting blank votes?? And others were trying to poke holes into their ballot with the little inker. Others were pressing but no ink came out. You have to press hard, then kind of twirl it in a circle to get the best results. At least that's what I found during my voting. The poll workers were just telling people to "press really hard" and make sure the dots appeared. This is NOT easier than the chad system! It's too easy to have a malfunctioning inker invalidate many votes. And older voters may not be able to press that hard. Who came up with the silly system anyway?? Republicans? |
