A total of 150 points are required to obtain eligibility for award recognition. The students with the highest number of points at the end of the year will receive an additional award of recognition for being the most involved individuals PIHRA. The following are the requirements on point allocation. To obtain a merit status, each area must be fulfilled. Under each category lists the events that count towards the category and the point value. 80 Meetings Points
General Meetings - 5 points
District Luncheon - 10 points
Socials - 5 points 70 General Points Consisting of Fundraising and Committee Participations
The amount of points allocated will carry from one activity to another. Points will be allocated depending on the amount of time spent and how much contribution PIHRA receives. For example, we plan to have a TV taping. For attending, you might receive 10 points for the few hours it will take. You will also receive additional points for each additional non-PIHRA member person have bring with you. Or if we have a fund raiser and more items are sold, that person may receive additional points. Old Members: These requirements apply to all members, including the members from last year. Even if a member has over 150 points right now, they will not be eligible for award recognition unless they have points that fulfill all three categories. We have record of last year's points so if you have any questions regarding points, please e-mail use or get in contact with our secretary, Sarah. Seniors Graduating Before Summer: You might notice that it's close to impossible to obtain 150 points and fulfill the required areas in one quarter and it might be fairly difficult in event two quarters. DO NOT let this discourage you from participating in all the activities. If you are graduating before the end of the school year and wish to have an award status, please attempt to participate as much as you can. Talk to an e-board member as soon as possible and let them know of your situation. One can petition to the e-board we will take the case into review. We will be looking to see how much commitment and contribution the member has put into the club for their duration of his or her membership. Reward: You will receive recognition, which looks good on resumes. There will also be an option for some kind of graduating paraphernalia (eg. sash, stole, medal, and etc.). If you have questions or suggestions, please post them!
